Empowering Muslim Women Through Cycling

Cycle Sisters received a £2,996 grant from BCBN, enabling 51 inclusive rides across East, West, and North London. 81 women from diverse backgrounds took part, improving physical health, mental well-being, and community connections while increasing representation in cycling.
With BCBN’s support, 7 new Ride Leaders were trained, expanding the volunteer base to 12 and ensuring the sustainability of future rides. 85% of participants reported increased confidence, 87% improved physical health, and 88% better mental well-being.
The initiative also inspired many to join major cycling events like RideLondon and London to Brighton, breaking barriers and fostering diversity.
The visibility gained through this initiative has led to additional funding, ensuring the continuation of the rides into 2025 and beyond, furthering Cycle Sisters’ mission to create a more inclusive and representative cycling community. Visit the Cycle Sisters website.
