BCBN grant awarded to 3 charities in Autumn 2015
BCBN are delighted to announce its Third Quarter Grant Recipients – The Refugee Council’s Crisis Appeal across the UK, TimeBank in partnership with Acorns Children’s Hospice in Birmingham and Children of Jannah in London and Manchester.
Thank you to our sponsors for supporting BCBN and enabling us to distribute grant awards to community projects and charities in the UK. We look forward to updating you on some of the incredible work these charities do and in demonstrating the positive impact they have on the local community.
The Refugee Council delivers a diverse range of activities to meet urgent needs of asylum-seekers and refugees after they flee war, persecution and torture. BCBN have awarded a grant of £3,000 for the Syria Appeal – distributing food, baby packs and other basic needs to Syrian refugees arriving to the UK.
TimeBank is a national volunteering charity that recruits and trains volunteers to deliver mentoring projects to tackle complex social problems. TimeBank in partnership with Acorns Children’s Hospice, which supports young people with life-limiting illnesses.
Children of Jannah supports bereaved Muslim parents and families following the loss of a child. The charity provides coping strategies with which to find a more positive way to re-join communities. BCBN’s grant of £3,000 will enable the charity to hold workshops for bereaved mothers in London.
