This successful event led to more than £28,000 being raised for deaf supporting charities in the U.K. This grant was used to included provide visual aids including large screens, and interpreters to help businesses.
“I am deaf and I held a stall for the first time this year to show the deaf community that we too can be successful. I sold mocktails and fresh fruit salads. I really enjoyed myself and meeting new people. My family and interpreters helped me with communication during transactions. I was pleased with my profits I want to do a stall again next year and encourage more deaf people to do a stall”
With over 4,000 spectators, the event was incredibly successful and continues to run every year in Mile End park. Al Isharah has continued to provide invaluable services to the Muslim community include employment support, Qur’an classes and free sign language courses.
