30 Schools Across South London Receive Laptops to Support Education in Lockdown
BCBN in sponsorship with Henley Homes plc distributed 100 laptops to over 30 schools in south London to children most at risk of falling behind in their education during the latest lockdown. Local schools across Battersea, Tooting and Putney are set to benefit from the technology which will play a vital role for those struggling to access online learning. The initiative was supported by local MPs, Dr Rosena Allin-Khan, Marsha de Cordova and Fleur Anderson.
“The pandemic has shone a light on the growing digital divide. Every child who needs a device to learn should have one,” – Battersea MP and Labour’s Shadow Secretary for Women and Equalities Marsha de Cordova.
“We are very grateful for the wonderful donation of laptops. They will go out to the families of Sacred Heart and will help children access remote learning not only during lockdown but in the months ahead.” – Jarad Brading, head teacher at Sacred Heart.
