Enhancing Support for Dementia: The Churn Project Memory Café
In the heart of Cirencester, a small but significant initiative is making a big difference in the lives of individuals living with dementia and their caregivers. The Churn Project’s Memory Café, funded through our Grant Initiative, offers a vital lifeline to those affected by dementia, providing a supportive environment and a range of activities tailored to their needs.
“Thanks to this grant from BCBN, The Churn Project has been able to support 280 people living with memory loss, and their carers, giving them a place to turn when they needed it the most. Without this funding, many people in the community would not be able to access the support they need. Thank you!”- The Churn Project
The Memory Café, held fortnightly, welcomes individuals with a formal diagnosis of dementia and their caregivers. Located centrally in Cirencester, the venue is easily accessible, ensuring that no one faces barriers in attending. The activities provided are carefully curated to cater to the unique challenges and interests of those living with dementia, offering both mental stimulation and emotional support. Since its inception, the Memory Café has seen significant attendance, with 280 individuals benefiting from its services between January 2023.
