Prime Minister Theresa May visits Advance in West London
The Rt Hon Theresa May MP, Prime Minister, visited project partners, Advance Advocacy and Non-Violence Community Education (Advance), earlier this month to discuss provision for women survivors of domestic abuse, following the government’s recent announcement to make the provision of services for survivors of domestic abuse such as accommodation-based support a legal duty for local authorities.
Advance is a leading women’s charity in this sector that provides specialist domestic abuse services to women and children across London, including in Hammersmith & Fulham, Kensington & Chelsea, Westminster, Brent and Ealing.

We were delighted to welcome the Prime Minister to our West London Women’s Centre, especially during our 20th anniversary year. At Advance we help over 4,000 women and children each year across London, saving and changing their lives. The continued support at national and local level is crucial to our work.”

We are fundraising to continue the post of an Independent Domestic Violence Advocate (IDVA) at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust (ICHT), the first point of call in any scenario or situation in which the person at risk and suffering from domestic violence will receive much needed help and support when they are at their most vulnerable.
